Don't Stand By Your Man

Another week, another footballer doing the dirty on his WAG. This time Ashley Cole has cheated on Girls Aloud's Cheryl and Sonja Stephen isn't impressed...

As her hubby's supposed drunken conquests come crawling out of the woodwork, Chezza is left with a big dilemma on her hands. Does she stand by her man or does she get rid?

Now, having never been a WAG or aspired to be one for that matter, I can only assume what would lure a girl into the arms of a footballer - the glamorous lifestyle, the designer handbags, the arcylic nails on tap?

And yes, it is fully understandable why some WAG's turn a blind eye to their partners' messing around with balls and boxes (ahem), because they accept that their quality of life wouldn't be as good without the high footballers' income.

But Cheryl Cole is a celebrity in her own right. She famously said so herself. She's one-fifth of Girls Aloud for gawd's sake and is certainly worth a few quid, so there is absolutely no way she should forgive that love rat husband of hers for embarrassing her and dragging her through this sleazy mess.

He cheated on her with no less than three money-grabbing slappers (well, that's how many have come forward so far), he allegedly refused to wear a condom with one (the glamour model), because apparently Chelsea provide regular check ups, so he knew he was clean (!), and he also offered to pay the blonde hairdresser to have an abortion when she had a pregnancy scare. Wow, what a slimeball.

Cheryl once said that if anyone cheated on her 'they'd be dead', but for some reason, she hasn't booted Ashley out. Instead she has drawn up a five-point plan that he has to stick to, in order for their marriage to work. It states that he must; be romantic once a fortnight, spend less time on the Playstation, keep in constant contact, stay away from bad influences and avoid alcohol for two weeks. Er, what? Where's the point about not having unprotected sex with girls he meets in clubs?! Oh, Cheryl.

She may not have the strength to give him the boot straight away (hopefully she'll find it within her soon), but at least she's not denying that this cheating took place. That's much braver than others have been, dontcha think Mrs Beckham?
